Located in the Al Khalifat area, Hilal bin Umayya is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in Doha. Also known as the Al Khalifat Mosque, it is a large mosque with an especially spacious prayer hall. The mosque contains a building for services in addition to a small, medium-rise, cylindrical minaret, located in its southeastern part. The mosque has a northern and southern entrance hall. Originally built in 1935, the mosque was expanded in 2003; its external facade restored in 2014.
